PhotoNetCast #38 – Looking at the sky: Clouds and Sunsets

We continue our discussion on landscape photography with an emphasis on Clouds and Sunsets, and how an image can improve from these elements.

Looking at the sky: Clouds and Sunsets

As you’ll probably notice this is a late release from a recording we did later last year (the mentions to Christmas and New Year’s Eve should be a good hint). In this episode we continue our discussion on landscape photography, in particular how environmental elements such as clouds and sunsets can improve your images. There was also time to answer a few listener questions we had regarding what we discussed on our last episode.

As always, if you have any photography related questions, get in touch and we’ll do our best to answer them.

PhotoNetCast #37 – Tips for Landscape Photography (the basics)

Tips for Landscape Photography – From composition, light, filters and tripods, golden hour and the “rules”, we touch a bit on everything.

Yes, a new one is here. In the last episode we mentioned that due to me moving to a new country there could be an issue with being able to release episodes for some time. Unfortunately it took much longer than I ever expected and for that I can only apologize. In any case, here is the latest, and it’s all about landscape photography. We’ll probably going to release a couple more episodes in which we’ll try to focus on specific topics within landscape photography. On this one however, we decided to bring you some more basic tips on how to improve your landscape photography. Just because I’m saying it is basic, does not mean it is not important.

From composition, light, filters and tripods, golden hour and the "rules", we touch a bit on everything.

If you’d like us to approach a specific topic particularly in landscape photography, or expand a bit more on anything you’ve heard on the show, now it’s the time to get in touch.

A special thanks goes to Dave Wilson for taking the guest seat on the show.

Poll: Which filters do you use in your digital photography work?

On the last episode of PhotoNetCast we discussed the utility of photography filters in the digital age. Now we want to know, what filters do you use in your digital work?

filters

On the last episode of PhotoNetCast we discussed the utility of photography filters in the digital age. We know that different uses and works require different filters and the style of the photographers also plays a big role in which filters to use. While shooting film probably requires a bigger and more diverse collection of filters, some filters can (should?) be used in digital work.

So, here is our next poll…

[poll id="5"]

We’ve listed the more common categories of filters but there might be more. So, choose all the filters you use and if you use any other filters that are not listed, feel free to add an answer in the comments bellow.

Thanks for your input.
